Aluminum oxide is the most commonly used abrasive. Best-suited for general purpose deburring and blending, it is tough, economical and fracture resistant. They are used for cutting iron, bronze, cast iron, steel and aluminum.
Straight wire filaments do not flare out of the cup as much as knotted or crimped wires. They are used for deburring and finishing surfaces.
